Mikrolimano Piraeus is the jewel of Piraeus Greece and the main place where citizens and visitors of it enjoy their coffee and meet each other. Mikrolimano means in greek small port. It is considered as one of the most interesting and valuable places of Piraeus because of its unique seaside landscape which is accompanied by a series of cafes, bars and restaurants. It distances 15 kilometers away from the city of Athens and belongs to Kastella, neighboring with Neo Faliro.

Mikrolimano Piraeus History:
During the centuries the name of the current Port of Mikrolimano changed several times. Indicative its ancient name was Mounichia port, then at the Byzantine times was called Fanari (Lantern). Then during the Turkish rule in Greece was named as Tourkolimano which is quite audible until today. Later on was called Port of Koumoundouros. In 1937 it took its final name Tourkolimano.
The geographical position of Mikrolimano is situated west and in close proximity from the contemporary premises of Karaiskaki stadium and Eirinis & Filias stadium. From the athletic complex of stadiums of Neo Faliro is able the visitor to reach Mikrolimano by foot.
The center of Mikrolimano is accessible from east destinations via Akti Dilaveri street. If we want to reach the place from Piraeus and Kastella then we should follow Papanastasiou avenue. The central road that drives through the center of Mikrolimano is Akti Moutsopoulou.
Passengers can easily access this wonderful seaside place via the two neighboring stations. More specifically it is about the electrical railway station of Neo Faliro and the Tram station of Stadium of Eirinis & Filias.
